For centuries, artists have been committing magic, rendering eyeball tricks that entice viewers into thinking that we see what we logically know isn't actually there. Unveil some of those basic tricks by practicing established drawing techniques, manipulating their related tools, and practicing seeing beyond looking.
The variety of techniques and tools will include:
- Atmospheric and linear perspective using graphite pencils.
- Chiaroscuro using charcoal vines and chalk.
- Tonal and shading affects using pens and India ink.
Artists 10 years-old through adult will each compile spontaneous doodles and original drawings, record academic practice of each addressed technique and concept, and assemble an active dictionary of pertinent terms in a personalized sketchbook.
